Finding Treatment

While Alzheimer’s is extremely common, there is currently no cure for the disease. However, there are a variety of options to help improve memory, relieve symptoms, and make life more comfortable and less confusing for patients.

The goal of NeuroBoost is to provide some ways your loved one can improve. Here are some other ideas to keep in mind:

Keeping to a routine

Routines help patients with Alzherimer’s disease know what activities to expect on a daily basis so they are not constantly confused. This can also make it easier for patients to perform certain tasks independently so they can feel better about themselves and so they do not have to rely as much on others for assistance.

Physical exercise

Exercise helps slow the deterioration of brain cells by stimulating the brain and maintaining old connections. Doing exercises regularly is also important for staying physically and mentally fit.

Make an Alzheimer’s-friendly environment

Keep in mind that people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease may also have visual difficulties. This is because Alzheimer’s disease can affect the parts of the brain that handle visual information that the eyes receive.

To ensure that the area is Alzherimer’s-friendly, you should make sure that objects in the room are clear and do not mimic other items. For example, a floor with a swirly design might resemble a group of snakes.

Another good idea is to label objects in a room and explain how they work.

Memory talk

Even though people with Alzheimer’s might remember an event incorrectly, you should avoid criticising or correcting them. Try to be content that they are able to have some memories.

Also, it’s a great idea to bring up some happy memories that can brighten up a patient’s day.
